A subtle balance between structure and finesse, this wine is a perfect illustration of the precision required to make a rosé, the rigorous process that celebrates the flesh of the fruit and the very heart of the grape...The wine is a reflection of the complexity of its limestone hillsides and arid soil; austerity bathed in dazzling sunshine.
The Chateau de Selle Rose combines various grape varieties from the Cotes de Provence appellation, including a majority of Grenache creating the delicate colour and vinous character. The Cinsault adds softness and the Syrah and the Mourvedre bring fruit.
This pale pink wine with golden tints releases fragrances of citrus fruit and orchard flowers enveloped in spice. On the palate, the immediate effect is elegant and open, developing subtle aromas with a lemony edge before a sweet finish of appealing length.
Winemaker Notes
Crystal-clear, pink-gold hue. The nose opens with the freshness of citrusfruit (pomelo, bergamot) then reveals elegant floral notes mingled with yellow peach and mango. The wine fresh and silky on entry and thengrows on the palate revealing aromas of kumquat and a mineral character that lead to a lingering and delicately spicy finish.
Blend: 65% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 7% Syrah, 8% Mouvedre

"Pale and coppery as usual, Ott's 2020 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle boasts restrained aromas of peach, melon and citrus underscored by hints of crushed stone. In the mouth, it's medium-bodied and concentrated, with ample intensity, a slightly creamy texture and a long, mouthwatering finish. Like the other top roses of Domaines Ott, this is a wine that is often better in its second year."
