In 1886 Emmanuel Goldstein and his business partner Benjamin Dreyfus planted Zinfandel and Sémillon on the back of Mount Veeder. Amazingly, these vines still produce fruit to this day. Our 2023 Monte Rosso Zinfandel proudly hails from these historic vines. Sitting 1,300 feet above Napa and Sonoma in the Southern Mayacamas, Monte Rosso’s volcanic soil, high elevation, and bay proximity create wines with unparalleled power and freshness. A true ‘unicorn’ vineyard, its legacy is one we’re honored to share.

Tasting Notes: A testament to Old Vine Zinfandel's incredible ability to adapt and tolerate intense California sunshine and heat. Lifted, floral, fresh raspberry. The healthy 50% dose of whole cluster provides balance to the luscious fruit with varietal verdancy and tension. The typical richness and concentration of fruit for this West-facing Old Vine block are backed with fresh, mouthwatering acidity and fine, elegant tannins.
