DISTILLERY NOTES
For fifteen years the producer of Del Maguey Tobala has asked Ron Cooper to bring in his Mezcal produced from Espadin, the genetic mother of the Blue Agave.
Reminiscent of a rainforest after a gentle shower this bright, clean spirit has aromas of ripe tropical fruit, green plantains, pineapple fronds, and wet stone. On the palate this spirit boasts flavors of ripe red apple, lightly sweet and smoky roasted agave, and Ceylon cinnamon.
At the insistence of a group of very special friends - dedicated connoisseurs, educators and "cantineros", Del Maguey has made this first bottling just for them. The first release of Del Maguey Mezcal Espadin Especial will consist of only fifty-five, six bottle cases, limited to New York, Boston and California.
