CHATEAU PEDESCLAUX PAUILLAC 2015

Chateau Pedesclaux vineyard lies on unique soils composition dating back 40 million years: a trademark of Medoc terroirs. The 2015 Chateau Pedesclaux is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.

The nose reveals blackberries, harmony, and grace. Medium-bodied, neat, and forward with very fine tannins. This Pauillac 5e Cru Classe is well-made, tasty, with a lot of aromas.

Critical Acclaim:

94 points - James Suckling
"Currants and blueberries with hints of flowers and perfume. Stones, too. Full body, a dense center palate, layers of ripe tannins and citrus rind. Layered and structured. Plush. A very serious wine from this estate. Best ever? We will see. Try in 2022."

92-94 points - Wine Enthusiast
"This is a juicy, fruity wine that's supported by dark fruit tannins. The black currant fruits are bright and crisp, while the structure is firm and the finish lingering."

92 points - Decanter
"A more generous interpretation of the vintage at Pédésclaux, not as tight through the mid-palate as many from the appellation at this early stage, with violet reflections and a firm but fresh body of cassis, tobacco and slate. There's a lovely dash of spice from the Petit Verdot - the 2015 vintage is the first one where they are using this grape in the blend. Good, medium term drinking from director and winemaker Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen."

90 points - Jeb Dunnuck
"From an estate on the upswing, the 2015 Chateau Pédesclaux is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated effort that includes a big chunk of Merlot (42%) and a small amount of Petit Verdot. It offers a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and silky personality as well as top-notch notes of blackberries, dried flowers, and cedary spice. With fine, polished tannin, no hard edges, and impressive purity of fruit, drink it anytime over the coming two decades."

90 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2015 Pedesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in barrel, 60% new and 40% one year old. Medium garnet-purple in color, it has an earthy nose with dried herbs and garrigue notes over a core of red currants and black berries plus a touch of cedar chest. The medium-bodied palate is fine and fresh with juicy red and black fruits and a chewy finish."
