Chateau Guiraud wine is born of simplicity and proven methods.
This wine is aged for approximately 18 months in oak barrels specially selected for their contribution to the wine's elegant manner and the immensity of the its soul. The bouquet is precise, the texture is sensual, the smoothness has a somewhat mineral tone ; Chateau Guiraud expresses elegant purity and aromatic refinement.
Tasting Notes: "This vintage is simply extraordinary. With a beautiful yield, we have produced a powerful wine, very aromatic, that present a perfect alcohol-sugar-acidity balance and an impressive purity of botrytis. The 35% Sauvignon Guiraud speaks again and makes this wine a brilliant freshness and aerial sugars. In the mouth, we find the pink grapefruit, lemon confit, notes of apricot, an opulence supported by a very roasted botrytis. An impeccable picking allows a wide definition of the growth and an obvious representation of the terroir of Guiraud; wine tight, straight and pure." - Xavier Planty, co-owner and estate manager
Acclaim: "Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. The 2009 Guiraud has a complex, precocious bouquet with honeysuckle and jasmine notes, hints of dried honey and white peach. It is tightly wound but very precise. The palate is pure and tense in the mouth - great precision here once again with superbly integrated oak and a lovely, seductive, very viscous botrytis-laden finish. In many ways the 2009 represents the wine that every vintage since 1983 would love to be. Drink 2018-2040+ Tasted April 2013."- 96 POINTS, The Wine Advocate
