VINEYARD NOTES
Our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced proportionately from our Heide Ranch vineyard, where the average vine age is 18 years old. The Heide Ranch vineyard is home to clones 7 and 47, which are recognized as producing the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon. Located in the eastern part of the Napa Valley Appellation, the soils are balanced, well-drained clay and sand. This region produces exceptional ripe fruit, giving our Cabernet Sauvignon the bold and rich flavors that aficionados everywhere have grown to love.
PRODUCTION NOTES
The 2019 growing season, started with an abundance of rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild, finish to the season helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with ample hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins. Yields were average to a little below average. All in all, exceptional fruit with bright acidity and plentiful texture promises an amazing vintage.
TASTING NOTES
This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, black current, and dark plum layered upon notes of toasty caramel. On the palate, this full-bodied silky wine has flavors of blackberries and Mission figs intermingled by notes of clove and well-integrated tannins.
FOOD PAIRING NOTES
This rich and opulent Cabernet Sauvignon compliments a variety of dishes including portabello and goat cheese tartlets, braised short ribs, or a herb crusted lamb shank.
