Dom Ruinart Rose encapsulates a balance one would believe to be impossible: a classic, yet velvety style of Champagne: Intense, delicate and aromatic, all at once. First and foremost, we'd like to gently remind you that it was Ruinart who crafted the first rose Champagne. Ruinart's accounting books hold references dating back to these early experiments. And yet, the creation of each new vintage of a great rose is an increasingly demanding exercise. A time old method is no longer the key: Dom Ruinart Rose is always a unique blend.

Composed of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir vinified as red wine, it has the character of a "blanc de blancs rose." Don't be misled into thinking that the high proportion of red wine means this wine has a deep colour. The cellar master vinifies the Pinot Noir, not looking for colour or tannins, but for aroma. Dom Ruinart Rose is undoubtedly one of the most delicately aromatic roses in existence.

With glass in hand, senses alert and an air of intense concentration, the cellar master Frederic Panaiotis speaks of the noble soils that are the source of these classic scents. Dom Ruinart Rose matures in the cellars for twelve years and displays the essential characteristics of a sublime rose Champagne as soon as released. Fresh golden raspberries, harmonize with the acidity of candied red currants, and just a hint of wild strawberry. This incredible cuvee wins the approval of all who experience it. This constantly classic Champagne is defined by its layers of minerals laced with smoke. A pink Champagne does not evolve at the same tempo as red wines of the same age. Flavors of the East draw you in with their complexity of exotic spices. Refined wild sea rose and a hint of dried rose petals hover on the surface of the Champagne and unfurl on the palate. This brilliant expression with its ever so subtle sweetness (5.5 grams/litre) is the result of a surprising balancing act: The creamy texture and classic style come together to represent a pedigreed wine. Dom Ruinart Rose 2004 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, the unparalleled 1998 and 2002, followed then by all those of its ancient lineage.

95 points - Vinous
"A wine of exquisite beauty, the 2004 Dom Ruinart Brut Rosť has the pedigree to drink well for several decades. The 2004 is an especially vinous, textured Rosť. The berry, floral, spice and mineral-drenched flavors are finely sketched in this dramatic, strikingly beautiful Rosť from Ruinart. (AG)"

94 points - Decanter
"This is very attractive, with quite an intense, earthy, red-fruit Pinot nose. On the palate there's some relatively youthful pomegranate and cranberry sweetness. It has good weight, depth and complexity, and the acidity balances out the richness of the palate and finishes with a flourish. (JS)"

94 points - James Suckling
"Extremely impressive complexity. Commanding autolysis notes on the nose with ripe strawberry and cherry fruits, and plenty of pastry and toastiness, too. The palate has impressive fruit weight and expands with powerful fleshy fruit. The flavours flit between gently pithy pink grapefruit, and redder cherries and peach."

94 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Including fully 19% red wine made from Sillery Pinot Noir, the 2004 Dom Ruinart Rosť was disgorged in February 2016 with four grams per liter dosage. Displaying complex aromas of red berries, dried orange rind, potpourri, iodine, toasted nuts and wet chalk, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and textural, with a more multidimensional, vinous profile than its Blanc de Blancs counterpart, with lively acids and a chalky finish. (WK)"

94 points - Wine & Spirits
"Focused on the saturated richness of Chardonnay, this rosť includes 19% Pinot Noir, providing a light copper-pink color and earthy savor. It delivers a river of flavor, tumbling through depths of elegant tannins and brisk acidity, even as it keeps giving new layers of pale fruit. It presents itself as a blended wine, with a lot of assets devoted to making that blend great."

94 points - Wine Spectator
"Richly aromatic, with smoke and spring blossom notes wafting through the fine and creamy layers of baked strawberry, singed orange peel and candied ginger flavors, while racy acidity forms a finely meshed frame that drives this to the long, minerally finish. Disgorged February 2016. (AN)"

93 points - Wine Enthusiast
"This is a classic style, ripe with a relatively high dosage and a mature taste. Its color shows maturity while the fruitiness has been transformed into a splendid nutty, toasty wine with attractive acidity and a soft aftertaste. (RV)"
